[phpwiki] SubmitToTheYokeOfFreedom

Jesus said:

From Matthew 11:

25At that time Jesus said, "I praise you, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children. 26Yes, Father, for this was your good pleasure. 27"All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. 28"Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."

What does it mean? Why should we take on a yoke to find rest?

I had some thoughts and put them into a very vague and confused article here:

I suppose you could say that we all have to carry loads, burdens, and that it's better to take a yoke that's designed for us and carry what God wants, than carry any other load. He condemned the Pharisees for putting legalistic burdens on other people and not lifting a finger to help them. And these people are already 'weary and burdened' (by the world? by the Pharisees?). It's not so easy to see how some other choices of lifestyle are 'burdens' though, but I suppose if they're not what God intended, they end up being burdensome and causing problems. I can't say I've met many people today who don't look and feel burdened one way or another. I definitely feel burdened by things in life, and demands, expectations etc.
