Love the podcast fellas! Very enjoyable :D
Stumbled upon this site through curiosity through Flarum Discuss, cheers!
Thanks Ralkage! Nice to hear at least one person is listening :-)
Thanks Ralkage, remember, tell your friends, tell all your friends.
Enjoying your countdown, guys. It saves me watching all the scary films :-) Though listening to the descriptions on my own in the evening is freaking me out slightly! Obviously you will not be getting any suggestions from me… Though I did see Gremlins a long time ago and tend to agree with Andy B from what I remember.
You say in relation to Hellraiser that the survivor is often a woman, this is a trope well discussed in (feminist) film theory and known as the “final girl” https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_girl
On second thoughts… I have seen one film which I think deserves to be in the list… Scream!
Thanks Kathy. I am glad to hear the discussions are freaking you out. Thanks for the link to “Final girl”. I have always just called her “the survivor”. Truly innovative films break the mould by making her blond. She survives because she does not have sex.
As for whether Scream! is on the list – you’ll have to wait and see. (I quite like it.)
Really enjoyed reading https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Final_girl
So here’s your unintenationaly homoerotic list…
Top gun
300
Rocky III
Tango and Cash
Fast and the Furious
Fight Club
Point Break
Magic Mike
Batman and Robin
Lord of the Rings.
Interesting list. I think we can safely strike 300 and Magic Mike off that list as they are most definitely intentionally homoerotic. Top Gun, the Fast and Furious franchise and Lord of the Rings are all dripping with bromance.
