Andy Balaam (who hasn’t seen it) thinks it’s a Studio Ghibli film about a boy who meets a talking guitar, and isn’t as far off as he usually is. Andy Cockerill explains that it’s a beautifully-crafted stop-motion film about a boy defeating evil with the help of the spirit of his mother who has inhabited a stone monkey.
