See?
Really, though: that's what this site is for - expressing anything - it doesnt have to be well-thought-out or sensible...

No but for me to write something that was an article (ie not a flippant comment on the discussion board) would cause too much stress. And I would be unhappy with it and want to delete it immediately. Will think about it.

We could do that when you've sorted your diss.
(I'm not writing that with you though! Writing my own was trauma enough...!!!)

Big Brother - now there's something worth writing in about. Personally I always had a soft spot for Jade. As for doing Big Brother myself, definitely not. It'd be the nearest I can imagine in this world to judgement day - all my bad sides and inconsistencies being exposed to the rest of Britain. A friend of mine (after a few drinks probably) kept saying 'Maybe I should go in for it', but he'd be the last person I'd recommend to be locked away with a load of temptations and TV cameras. He vaguely knew the girl who was on it last year who showed herself to be a Christian but then pranced around in a bikini getting up to various things (apparently - I didn't watch it). I'm sure someone could write us a nice article on Big Brother as a sociological and hamartiological case study - someone who's not in the middle of a dissertation of course.

Hi Midge, welcome.
Unfortunately BB attracts exactly the people who shouldn't be on it.
A bit like politics really.

Sorry, I forgot to be rude about Chris Moyles in my last message. I think everyone should be banned from speaking to him. Seriously though, whenever I turn the radio on, he's talking about some inane topic. Yesterday they were having a race to see who could write a text message fastest. I find it hard to believe people get paid to do this kind of thing these days. Not like the old days with Steve Wright and his posse. Sorry - got carried away. But why is Chris Moyles so appealing these days? He reminds me of the annoying sarcastic kind of person you had to put up with at school who kept her/his head above water by putting everyone else down all the time. If I wanted inane conversation about Boat Trip, Big Brother, drinking and text messages I'd go to the pub, not listen to the radio (though not while I'm at work of course). Do people really prefer this to music?
I'm sure someone could write an essay about how Chris Moyles reflects today's society - the cynicism, the we're-rubbish-but-we're-paid-for-it-so-there attitude, the constant seeking after meaningful human contact... But maybe that's something for www.damaris.org rather than this site.
Anyway, that's all quite meaningless in the great scheme of things. Hopefully I'll be able to summon up the energy to give my hap'orth to the discussions of struggling with prayer and Bible reading next time round.

Oh sorry - yes, hamartiological means the study of sin. Not the kind of word I use very often. When I first read Andy's comment...
> Hi Midge, welcome.

... I thought for a brief moment that BB meant "bulletin board" and it was a comment about me, and the kind of people who use words like hamartiological. But I was relieved to realise I was wrong. I'm sure Andy would never be that rude.

I just want to say I found it funny the way Midge thought BB meant bulletin boad. That would have been so horrible! Anyway, it just amused me.

lol Midge please never think I'd be like that!
And M I'm surprised at you.
(I never call them bulletin boards either, btw, don't ask me why)
The problem is that Chris Moyles makes me laugh as well as hating him. Mind you, I never listen to it so at least I'm not part of the problem.

You have to be surprised at me occasionally.
Otherwise my life would just be boring.

Midge, I'll leave the article to you as i still haven't finished my diss.
Andy can be rude but only when he is not either grumpy (all the time) or geeky (also all the time)
Have you told anyone about our double time to the station??

Well I'm nowhere near finished mine - "Towards a hermeneutics of an approach to unpacking an articulation of a dialogue of a theology of courtship" - only joking. But seriously though, Chris Moyles is a good test of personality type. If I was to design a personality test I wouldn't ask all those waffly questions, I'd say:
1) Is Chris Moyles funny?
2) Are Mark & Lard funny?
3) Do you squeeze the toothpaste tube in the middle or at the end?
4) Do you realign the two ply layers of the toilet roll when the perforations get out of sync?
etc.
I like number 4 particularly - I tried it on a couple of friends of mine and I guessed correctly which of them did it.

>>1) Is Chris Moyles funny?
Sort of sometimes. I find myself smiling guiltily when he's on, then turning the radio off.
>>2) Are Mark & Lard funny?
They used to be but dried up years ago.
>>3) Do you squeeze the toothpaste tube in the middle or at the end?
The end now I'm under the thumb.
>>4) Do you realign the two ply layers of the toilet roll when the perforations get out of sync?
No but I always turn it round so you can take pieces from the front.
How would you realign them anyway?

1: Yes - But sometimes find it inappropriate for the time of day...
2: Yes - But don't get chance to listen to them at the no so have no idea of their current form
3: The middle! But I use crest where it doesn't matter as the tube returns to the shape it was in and the toothpaste flows to the end (If you stand it upside down and don't lay it flat)
4: No - I let other people do that for me

I think my answer to 4 should actually be "yes if I notice" cos a lot of the time am completely oblivious to most things in life.

Oh dear - that reminds me of this morning - I was asked to do the overhead projector for the morning service and we were singing a new song about the Holy Spirit changing us, and in the second verse it said something about Him taking away our vagueness. That instantly set me off on a runaway train of thought which ran through various things including GuiltyExpression, and I didn't come to earth again till I realised the band had started playing the 3rd verse and I hadn't put the words up for the congregation He obviously hasn't taken away my vagueness yet...
